Sakarya University The Faculty of Fine Arts was founded on 29 04 1997 in accordance with Law no 3887 of 3rd July 1994, item 25 and additional item 30 added to Law no 2809.

The Faculty was founded to support Fine Arts. The faculty aims at creating works having universal values in the fields of Art, Ceramics and Traditional Handicrafts. Moreover, it aims at conducting researches on the art activities in Sakarya and improving them.

The Department of Ceramics
The Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts: Tezhip (Illumination) M.Art Branch, Old Cini (Tiles) Restoration M.Art Branch, Carpet-Kilim and Old Cloth Patterns M.Art Branch.

MISSION OF THE FACULTY

The mission of the faculty is to protect the cultural values and “Turkish Art and Artists”in the frame of national consciousness; to understand them as a whole at the universal level, to create original works of art, to educate students with academic values and self-confidence; to contribute to the general values and principles of the university by considering artistic values with the sense of social responsibility.

VISION OF THE FACULTY

Our vision is to be a distinguished Fine Arts Faculty with its eminent education and with national, universal and modern works of art. At the same time our vision is to educate students who are capable of creating original works of art, and open to social, artistic, cultural, scientific and technological developments. We also aim at graduating students who could contribute to the well-being of the society through their original works of art.
